Self expression through Acting, Poetry and Song are part of Joe T.’s recipe for success. Working to help others live, dream, and achieve, Joe T. is using his passion for performing arts to inspire.

            A multidiscipline performing artist, Joe T., has performed as the Cat in Erin Players’ production of Seussical the Musical, as well as No No Nanette with the Tennessee Valley Players, Evita and Mame at the historic Knoxville, TN Bijou Theatre Center, and Stand, Peace by Piece, and We Shall Overcome with Optasia Productions.

            In the spoken word realm, Joe T. travels to churches, high schools, and colleges across the Southeast sharing the themes of trials and tribulations, love and loss, religion and social critique. In addition to traveling, Joe T. has performed songs and poetry at the 2008 and 2009 Make Ova’ Conference for Rogers Memorial Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN. Joe was also a member of the 2009 Eclipse poetry slam team that became the 2009 Youth Speaks Nashville Mid-South Grand Slam Team Champions.

            In addition to performing as an actor and spoken word artist, Joe T. is also a vocalist. Joe T. has lent his vocals to various recording projects such as Daniel Miller Band’s Backporch, Lar’Juannette Williams’ Healing, and Wendel Werner’s Spiritual. Joe is currently writing songs to produce his first solo album.

            Agreeing with Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons statement, “Art allows people to dream their way out of struggle,” Joe believes that art plays a vital role in any movement for social change. Joe is active in many civic organizations, and works with Jazz for Justice Project and the S.T.A.Y. Project, to which he was elected to the board of directors.

            Joe T.’s goal is, “…To use my art to provide a catalyst for social change, and in anything that I do, it is my main goal to inspire people to Live, Dream, Achieve, and Inspire and in all things, be the best they can be.”
